Classical Garden Print Room

CLASSICAL GARDEN PRINT ROOM

English aristocrats in the 18th century returned home from the Grand Tour with beautiful engravings of the sights and artefacts they had seen on their European travels. The Classical Garden Print Room design features engravings of vases from Roman Villas by Aquilla, urns from Roman Palaces by Piranesi and the statues of Diana & Earth from the Palace of Versailles, designed by Charles Le Brun. The design is united by tromp l?oeil ropes and hangings characteristic of the 18th century print room. See Classical Garden Print Room range.

Equestrian Print Room

EQUESTRIAN PRINT ROOM

Baron d?Eisenberg?s beautiful illustrations of the Haute Ecole from the Spanish Riding School, are 18th century engravings taken from original paintings at Wilton House, Salisbury, England, in the collection of the Earl of Pembroke. The images of prancing and leaping horses and their riders are formal, but at the same time amusing and witty. The design is enhanced by the classic print room devices of borders, ropes and chains and includes decorative embellishments from Pergolesi, who worked with Robert Adam, and elements from Piranesi?s engravings of Roman artefacts.
