The Print Room Collection is based on designs for 18th century Print Rooms, in which copper-plate engravings of decorative subjects were pasted on to the walls of great houses, and adorned with classical borders and embellishments to create stunning trompe l’oeil effects, resembling framed pictures hanging from ropes and chains. This collection comprises three main designs: the Classical Garden Print Room, the Equstrian Print Room and French Furniture Print Room together with two complimentary co-ordinates. This beautiful design is based on an antique engraving of the Bounds Park Oak by Jacob George Strutt, who was famous for his early nineteenth century “Portraits of Forest Trees Distinguished for their Antiquity, Magnitude or Beauty”.It is hand printed on silk or cotton in three earthy colours. A selection of competitively priced sheer weaves woven for ARC in Switzerland from pure cotton. There are three designs of double weaves and clip cords giving a choice of geometric, linear and swirling patterns.
